It’s an event that is much more than golf. Over 100 golfers headed to the Manila Southwoods recently to participate in the 10th Pelagio A. Alvarez Foundation (P.A. Foundation), a yearly event organized to raise funds to support the foundation’s initiatives, such as regular feeding programs, volunteer work in advocacy-related efforts, charitable donations, disaster relief operations and environmentally-conscious activities, to name a few.
Kicking off this year’s tournament with the ceremonial shotgun were Masahiko Toda (General Manager, Overseas Business Division, Hankyu Hanshin Properties Corp.); Gustavo Tambunting (Former Congressman, 2nd district,City of Paranaque); Romarico “Bing” Alvarez (Chairman, P.A. PA Properties Chairman, Romarico “Bing” Alvarez, tees off signaling the start of the 10th PA Foundation Golf Tournament
Organized by P.A. Foundation, the annual golf event has attracted more than 100 players this year, majority of which have been playing in the tournament consistently since it started in 2009. The work of the foundation serves hundreds of people each year and revolves around improving the quality of life of Filipinos. Proceeds from the golf tournament will be used to further the foundation’s work toward providing compassionate, quality service to the children, youth, adults and communities it supports.

Daniel Lim (Class A), Lito Javier (Class B) and Oca Balaoing (Class C) earned top honors at this year’s golf tourney. The event also included a hearty lunch, live music and a raffle which gave out flat-screen HDTVs, iPads, mobile phones among others.
